Faculty of Education, University of Warsaw was established in 1953 and is a leading educational institution, preparing teachers and educators in Poland.https://www.pedagog.uw.edu.pl/english-version/. Faculty is engaged in modernisation of teaching practices and collaborates with many Universities in Europe and around the world by organizing international and national conferences and symposia on Education and Education-related topics, exchange of students and teachers and by promoting high quality standards of research.
Social Pedagogy Unit, established in 1957, consists of scholars and researchers interested in various educational aspects of learning outiside of school environments: children in care institutions, alternative education (animation), global education, migration studies, inclusion, justice and human rights.
Alma mater of 1881 graduate Jane Addams, Rockford University is a private four-year, co-educational institution founded in 1847 in Rockford, Illinois (USA). Located about 70 miles to the northwest of Chicago, where Jane Addams and Ellen Gates Starr founded Hull House in 1889, Rockford University offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in traditional liberal arts and professional fields with approximately 80 majors, minors and concentrations. The University’s mission is to educate men and women to lead responsible lives by means of a curriculum grounded in liberal arts learning and complemented and extended by professional and practical experience.
The Jane Addams Center for Civic Engagement (JACCE) at Rockford University advances the ideals of Rockford University through the practices of community engagement, citizenship, and peace. The Center:
- Connects and supports students, faculty, and staff in forging community partnerships and pioneering projects.
- Strengthens community partnerships by building mutually beneficial relationships as the center serves as a resource and platform for engagement.
- Focuses on areas of need in the community and works with Community Partners to help restore and enrich the lives of our fellow citizens.
Approaching civic engagement holistically, we at the Center see ourselves as not only working for the betterment of society but also empowering our students with the knowledge that they can use their college education for the public good and bring about positive change in the world.
