THE PEDAGOGICAL QUARTERLY

“Kwartalnik Pedagogiczny” (“The Pedagogical Quarterly”, ISSN 0023-5938. e-ISSN 2657-6007) was established in 1956. It is a nationwide scientific journal published by the University of Warsaw, in cooperation with the Faculty of Education of the University of Warsaw, and the University of Warsaw Press. It is subscribed both in Poland and abroad.

“The Pedagogical Quarterly” is noted in the ERIH database (European Reference Index for the Humanities), CEEOL (Central and Eastern European Online Library) and CEJSH (The Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities). According to the latest list of scientific journals issued on 31.07.2019 by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, “The Pedagogical Quarterly” is awarded of 20 points.

The main purpose of “The Pedagogical Quarterly” is to stimulate and foster interdisciplinary academic discourse centring around the most important contemporary and historical educational problems. The editorial board pursues intensive international cooperation aimed at popularising Polish pedagogy among foreign pedagogues and helping Polish pedagogues to learn about what is happening in pedagogy in other countries (translations of foreign language works are also published in “The Pedagogical Quarterly”).

The journal welcomes the works of acknowledged authors as well as early-career researchers. “The Pedagogical Quarterly” is a journal of wide-ranging thematic scope: it features articles concerning various subdisciplines of pedagogy, including pedeutology, andragogy, history of education, comparative pedagogy, didactics, social pedagogy, educational psychology, education philosophy as well as the issues of aesthetic education. Before publication, submitted articles are subject to the review of two independent reviewers in accordance with the standards of double blind peer review which allows for the selection of quality works.

The main sections of the journal are: articles, colloquia (papers in foreign languages – English or German) materials and reports on research, descriptions of education in other countries, and reviews. The published articles are accompanied by English summaries. Occasionally, also reports on nationwide or foreign academic conferences with the participation of Polish pedagogues are featured.
