Position of the Editorial Board of the Education Research Quarterly in relation to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine

We are deeply saddened and outraged by the Russian military attack in Ukraine, and we wish to express our sincere support, and solidarity with all whose lives have been so brutally violated by the invasion of Russian troops. Our thoughts, and hearts are directed to the people of Ukraine, including scientists, teachers, and students who experience unimaginable trauma in this dark time.

The editorial staff of the Education Research Quarterly puts emphasis on cooperation, exchange of thoughts, knowledge and experience between scientists from different countries. Our goal is to support high-quality educational research for the benefit of education and society. We strongly believe that this mission can best be carried out in times of peace and in cooperation with others. We want to be able to work and strengthen cooperation for the education of societies in Europe, and for what we consider to be our common European values.

We strongly condemn acts of aggression, and violence that not only put millions of innocent people living in Ukraine at serious risk, but will also harm survivors for years and decades. We call for an immediate end to the violence experienced by the people of Ukraine. We are calling for peace to be restored.

Позиція редакції «Педагогічного Квартальника» щодо агресії Росії проти України

Ми глибоко засмучені та обурені військовими діями Росії в Україні, тому хочемо висловити нашу щиру підтримку, співчуття та солідарність з усіма, чиє життя було так жорстоко порушено вторгненням російських військ. Наші думки та серця спрямовані до народу України, зокрема з науковцями, викладачами та студентами, які переживають неймовірні травми в цей темний час.

Редакція «Педагогічного Квартальника» робить акцент на співпраці, обміні думками, знаннями та досвідом між науковцями різних країн. Наша мета – підтримувати високоякісні освітні дослідження на благо освіти та суспільства. Ми твердо віримо, що цю місію найкраще виконувати в мирні часи та у співпраці з іншими. Також хочемо мати можливість працювати і зміцнювати співпрацю для освіти суспільств у Європі, бо це ми вважаємо нашими спільними європейськими цінностями.

Спільнота редакції рішуче засуджує акти агресії та насильства, які не лише піддають серйозній небезпеці мільйони невинних людей, які живуть в Україні, але й на роки, десятиліття завдадуть шкоди тим, хто вижив. Ми закликаємо до негайного припинення насильства, що переживає народ України і закликаємо до відновлення миру.

ABOUT THE JOURNAL

Kwartalnik Pedagogiczny (Education Research Quarterly) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal established in 1956. It was the initiative of researchers who were keenly interested in the problems of contemporary education and educational research.

The mission of the journal is to disseminate the latest, original research results on educational research and pedagogy in Poland as well as in other European countries, and around the world. We present research focused on developing these areas of knowledge and finding solutions to current problems.

In Kwartalnik Pedagogiczny (Education Research Quarterly), we publish texts in Polish and English in the form of original articles, review articles, and scientific reviews. We invite for cooperation Polish and foreign scientists related to educational research, as well as representatives of other scientific disciplines. We want the journal to provide space for discussion based on different perspectives pertaining to educational research issues.

It is important for us to confront on the pages of the journal the perspectives from which representatives of different scientific fields look at the same or similar issues in the field of pedagogy.

We also publish special (thematic) issues that present research into how global, European and regional contexts affect education research.

The submitted texts cannot be previously published, nor can they be submitted for publication in another journal. All texts submitted for publication undergo double-blind peer review.

The publisher of Kwartalnik Pedagogiczny is the University of Warsaw.

Kwartalnik Pedagogiczny is a point-based journal, listed in databases such as ERIH, CEEOL and CEJSH.
