Studies in Polish

Andragogy (1st or 2nd degree)

The specialization andragogy is the only Bachelor Studies in Poland, which in the first edition of the All-Poland Accreditation Programme of Studying Directions Studying with the Future won a certificate confirming a distinctive educational concept on the educational market. The concept of educating students was distinguished due to the high quality of the implemented study programme, which was adjusted to the dynamically changing needs of the labour market in the context of contemporary socio-civilisational challenges. The manner in which the specialisation is conducted was distinguished: care was taken to provide students with the latest knowledge, shaping skills and competences particularly valued by employers and managers managing social undertakings (e.g.: teamwork, digital skills, negotiation and conflict resolution, and many others).

Cultural animation (1st or 2nd degree)

The aim of the specialisation is to equip graduates with knowledge in various areas of informal, non-formal and alternative education and socio-cultural animation, and to familiarise them with currents operating in Poland and abroad. The study programme harmoniously combines theoretical knowledge with practical activities. Graduates will gain a working knowledge of the various methods and means used in informal, non-formal and alternative animation and education, and will become familiar with the environments and areas in which they are applied, as well as acquiring knowledge of the legal aspects of the operation of various institutions in the local environment. During the course of study, students will participate in projects: animation, social, research.

Artistic and media education (2nd degree)

Studies within the specialisation provide theoretical and practical preparation in the field of artistic visual education and the use of media in the processes of socialisation, education and social communication. The studies are a combination of knowledge of culture, art and media with the students’ own artistic creativity in the field of: painting, graphics, drawing, graphic design with the use of modern media, digital photography, sculpture, ceramics, creating spatial structures of the environment type. The studies also prepare for skilful analysis and critical evaluation of media messages (as well as their creation) and the use of new media in educational activities (modern methods of education using new technologies, e.g. e-learning). Shaping conscious use of media content, the study programme links the ability to communicate competently in all forms of media: print and electronic.

Pre-school and early childhood education (long cycle studies)

We educate teachers to a high standard, taking into account the needs of today’s society and school. High quality early childhood education supports the development of children’s potential, the levelling of educational opportunities and the effective support of children with diverse learning needs.

Graduates are equipped with professional competences to support the individual and social development of pre-school and early school-age children, also to cooperate with the family and local environment for the benefit of children and to carry out diagnostic and therapeutic activities in situations disrupting the course of development and education.

Special educational needs education (long cycle studies)

We educate teachers to a high standard taking into account the needs of modern society and the modern school. The high quality of special education enables the development of the potential of children with disabilities, their better preparation for the challenges of today, the levelling of educational opportunities for pupils with diverse SEN also from disadvantaged backgrounds and their effective preparation for social integration in subsequent stages of education.

Educational policy (2nd degree)

Graduates of the specialisation will be prepared to set goals and determine ways of implementing educational policy at the level of state administration units. These competences also include the ability to define objectives and principles of cooperation and partnership activities with other entities in the field of education. The management of an educational organisation requires both substantive and social competence. Knowledge of strategic and change management, project construction and management as well as human capital management will form the basis for the direction of an educational organisation. Managerial and interpersonal skills will be required to carry out the tasks assigned.

Socio-educational support for children and families (1st or 2nd degree)

The premise of the specialisation programme is to combine theory and practice and to equip students with the skills to work with individuals, families and the social environment. Students acquire general, pedagogical, psychological, sociological and specialist knowledge in the field of social policy, law, social work and counselling. They also have the opportunity to develop competences in interpersonal communication, empathy, assertiveness, solving social problems and problems of people who find themselves in difficult situations. Parallel to acquiring theoretical knowledge, they complete work placements in selected public institutions and non-governmental organisations. In addition, students acquire and improve their foreign language skills and become familiar with the situation of social work in EU countries.
