Decision-making processes for/against digital tools for physical education teachers

The use of digital tools in physical education is preceded by a decision-making process as part of the teacher’s lesson planning, in which the teacher has to find a digital tool and decide for or against the use of the found digital tool. Such decision-making processes
have not yet been investigated for the use of digital technologies. This article reports the results of a study that analysed the factors that influence the intention to try out a digital tool. The decision-making process and the influencing factors are modelled on the basis of
the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) (Venkatesh, Morris & Davis, 2003). According to this theory, the intention to use technology is influenced by performance and cost expectations as well as social influences.
