TEMAT SEMINARIUM: QUALIFICATIONS OF KINDERGARTEN TEACHERS AND SUBJECTS OF EDUCATION IN KINDERGARTEN IN GERMANY

What kind of knowledge is represented by booklets which are produced by order of the government for Kindergarten teachers with the aim to support Kindergarten teachers to hold up for human rights in their daily work? Dealing with this question I would like to refer to the works of Michel Foucault, the praxis of discourse analysis in the qualification of Kindergarten teachers and psychoanalytical approaches that conceptualize the need of a psyche to balance challenges in transforming societies.

Prof. Dr. phil. Claudia Maier-Höfer – is professor for Childhood Studies at University of Applied Sciences of Lutheran Church in Germany. She developed the early education programme: Erziehung, Bildung und Kindheit/ Childhood Studies and organises the teaching modules: the ethical education and children’ s rights. Her research concerns inclusion, transition, early education and care and methodology in childhood research.
